Welcome!

It takes courage to seek therapy and even get to this point in advocating for your mental health. I already celebrate and honor the work to even get to this point.

Therapy is all about your healing, but here’s a little bit about me:

I grew up in a military family and moved every few years. This was difficult having friends disappear and not knowing who to sit with at lunch as the new kid.

I inherited the tradition of military service and commissioned as an officer in the Air Force from the US Air Force Academy. I continued to struggle with identity and my place in the world. I grew up in a conservative, Catholic, and lower middle-class family in mostly white, suburban communities. I have since found my spiritual path within Zen Buddhism (Sanbo-Kyodan lineage), my political ideologies shifting towards a compassionate progressivism and staunch anti-racism, and feeling at home in diverse, queer communities.

After nearly dying in a motorcycle accident and issues with not fitting into bureaucratic military culture, I was pushed into the realization that I needed to change my career. With emotional fulfillment from helping others as a sexual assault victim advocate in the military, I felt compelled to attend the University of Washington for a Master’s in Social Work. I graduated in 2023 with experience as youth homeless case manager and a therapist intern.

I have been loving Seattle, the career, and life in general! I know firsthand the immense difficulty in contemplating life changes, exploring identity, and the transformative power of a mindfulness practice; I also know the grass can be actually greener.

My therapy modalities are eclectic and unique to the person and infinitely complex challenges surfacing in each client. I use Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, IPSRT (evidence-based treatment for Bipolar), Internal Family Systems, Gottman Couples Therapy, and Cognitive Processing Therapy (for Trauma work).

Outside of the therapy room, I am usually lifting weights, running, creative writing, traveling, learning Japanese, painting, and using my Q-grade coffee sommelier certification by drinking way too much coffee at new cafes in Seattle!
